Floyd Mayweather vs Marcos Maidana II set for September 13 at the MGM Grand

Officially titled “Mayhem” Floyd Mayweather announced today that his rematch with Marcos Maidana on September 13th is done. Both fighter’s have signed the contracts. The fight will take place at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV, and it will be promoted by both Golden Boy Promotions and Mayweather Promotions according to Leonard Ellerbe.

Mayweather said last week that Maidana would be his opponent so this news comes to no surprise for most. Mayweather defeated Maidana by majority decision in their first fight on May 3rd. Many felt Maidana gave Mayweather all that he could handle and therefore Mayweather is ready to show everyone that he can do it again, this time in more convincing fashion. Maidana on the other hand will look to put even more pressure on Floyd, and try to outwork him like he was in their first encounter before Mayweather started to take control of the fight. The fight is the fourth of Mayweather’s six fight deal with Showtime.
