Mayweather and Maidana hit NYC

The opening press conference for the rematch between undefeated pound for pound champion and junior middleweight and welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather (46-0, 26 KO’s) and the hard hitting Argetenian Marcos Maidana (35-4, 31 KO’s) was held earlier today in New York City. The fight titled “Mayhem”, is being held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV on September 13th on Showtime PPV. Here’s what both fighters had to say about their highly anticipated rematch.

Floyd Mayweather:

“If Chino Maidana is so confident I’ll bet him his purse that I’ll beat him!

“I’m still trying to figure out if I’m fighting a boxer or an MMA fighter. The same thing that happened yesterday with Germany and Argentina is going to happen on September 13.

Marcos Maidana:

“We’re going to prove who won the first fight in this rematch! Thank you to all the Latino’s who supported me. I think the reason why he doesn’t want me to wear my gloves is because he’s intimidated.

“I think he’s afraid. That’s why he didn’t let me use my gloves. He thinks I’m dirty but he uses his elbows.”
