Manny Pacquiao vs Chris Algieri set for November 22 in Macau

WBO welterweight champion and superstar Manny Pacquiao (56-5-2, 38 KO’s) officially returns to the ring in Macau, China on November 22nd against WBO light welterweight champion Chris Algieri (20-0, 8 KO’s). The fight will be shown on HBO PPV.

The relatively unknown Algieri shook up the boxing world last month when he defeated Ruslan Provodnikov by split decision at the Barclay’s Center. The fight earned him the WBO light welterweight championship and now a fight with Manny Pacquiao. Algieri was down twice in the first round against Provodnikov but managed to weather the storm, outboxing the hard hitting “Siberian Rocky” and earning a hard fought unanimous decision. Algieri ended up having the “Rocky” type performance in the fight as he fought half the fight with one eye, and came in as a huge underdog to Provodnikov.

Pacquiao is coming off a stellar performance against Timothy Bradley where he dominated his way to a unanimous decision at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas back in April. He also looked sensational against Brandon Rios last November in his last fight in Macau. Pacquiao is expected to be a heavy favorite in this fight.
