Chavez Jr. said Lucian Bute, Matthew Macklin and Jorge Sebastian Heiland are being targeted for his July return. His last fight against Andrzej Fonfara in April he was knocked out. In an interview with ESPN Deportes on Thursday, Chavez stated he is back in training with Joe Goosen and want to keep his weight under control. As he wants his next fight will be at 168 pounds or below.
“I’d like to come back as soon as possible. I don’t know if at the end of June or in July,” Chavez Jr. said via ESPN Deportes. “I want to have a fight at 168 pounds. I want to resume my career, get in rhythm and look the best for me. Already the defeat with Fonfara, I left it behind, took the best that I could and stayed as a bad experience.”
