After breaking reports all week long stated that negotiations have began to place Carl Froch against Gennady Golovkin in the squared circle this fall, the fact remains that Carl Froch himself has yet to decide on facing Golovkin.
Froch's promoter Eddie Hearn has opened talks with K2, Golovkin's promoter, though he's not sure if Froch will retire. While this could be a tactic to sway negotiations in Froch's favor, Froch never seemed interested in the Golovkin fight before and could be content retiring. Golovkin would be a dangerous fight for him this late in his career. Froch doesn't need the fight to secure his legacy, but Froch has also never been known to dodge a big fight. The ball is in his court.
