A report surfaced earlier from the LA Times that undefeated pound for pound king Floyd Mayweather (48-0, 26 KO's) is going to make the announcement for his September 12th fight within the next two weeks. Floyd Mayweather is claiming that September 12th will be the last time he ever steps foot inside the boxing ring. Once his six fight contract is up with Showtime he is going to retire. Mayweather is said to be deciding between two British stars, Amir Khan (31-3, 19 KO's) or Kell Brook (35-0, 24 KO's), as his September 12th foe.
For years Amir Khan has been calling Floyd Mayweather out but has failed to land the fight mainly due to losses and lack of public interest because of those. Brook is a recent star, and the IBF champion, who is undefeated in 35 professional fights. Brook and Khan have been verbally sparring about facing each other, and though Khan may be the bigger name in the United States and the United Kingdom, many think that Brook is the better fight for Floyd. An announcement should be coming soon.
