Mayweather Approved for Sept. 12th

The Nevada State Athletic Commission has granted Mayweather Promotions request to hold a PPV event on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Likely meaning that this is the return date for Mayweather vs (TBA) on Showtime. We still don't know who Mayweather will be facing. Lots of talk about a possible rematch with Cotto or Welterweights Amir Khan and Kell Brook.

This puts Canelo is a tough stop as not only did he want to fight Cotto next but Canelo’s manager Eddy Reynoso said on Wednesday that Canelo will be fighting on September 12th on HBO. He said that Canelo will not back off the date.

This will be Mayweather's last contracted fight with Showtime and he also stated that this will be his last fight before he retires.
