Ward-Smith weights

Super middleweight champion Andre Ward weighed in at 171.8 for his fight against Paul Smith tomorrow in Oakland, CA. However, his Smith weighed in at 176.4 making him 4.4 lbs over the 172 contracted weight limit. Smith had decided to not to attempt to lose the weight and pay a fine. Ward will go on with the show. The fight will be shown live on BET tomorrow night. Ward will be seeing the ring for the first time since 2013. It is also his first fight under his new promoter RocNation Sports.
