Petrov-Walsh clash for the WBO Lightweight elimination Oct 10th

Petr "Zar" Petrov (36-4-2, 17 KO's) will fight undefeated Liam Walsh (19-0, 13 KO's) in a WBO Lightweight elimination bout on October 10th @ Manchester Arena (formerly M.E.N Arena), Manchester, Lancashire.

Petrov is coming off a win against Gamaliel Diaz by a 10-round unanimous decision, scores: judges: Jerry Cantu 97-90, Max DeLuca 98-89, Fernando Villareal 97-90. Both fighters were dropped during the fight, Petrov down in round one & Diaz down in round seven. Petrov has not lost since he fought Dejan Zlaticanin in 2013.

Liam Walsh is currently undefeated and sports a 68% knockout ratio. In his last fight this past July he defeated Isaias Santos Sampaio, by KO in the 6th round. Santos Sampaio, was down twice & got ko'd by a left to the body.

The winner of the fight will be the mandatory challenger for the winner of the WBO Lightweight title bout between Terry Flanagan and Diego Magdaleno, which will take place on the same card
