This week pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather returns to the ring against massive underdog Andre Berto. The fight will take place Saturday night @ MGM Grand, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA on Showtime PPV cost for $64.95 SD & $74.95 HD. This will be Mayweather's final fight (according to him) before he retires from the sport of boxing. “Number 49 is my last fight. No one is in my shoes. My health is more important. If you stick around anything too long, anything can happen. I'm not really worried about losing, but I want to have a sharp mind. You can make a lot of money, but you still want to be able to talk, walk, and have a sharp mind.” said Mayweather.
Floyd Mayweather, currently undefeated last fought in May, against Pacquiao, where he won by UD over twelve rounds. The fight was considered the biggest boxing match in history. Most viewers were very disappointed in Mayweather's performance, seeing the fight as if he "ran" all night instead of trading punches with Pacquiao. Also many were angry that Pacquiao, after the fight who announced that he entered the bout hurt with a shoulder injury.
Andre Berto, is 3-3 in his last 6, is universally seen as being past his prime. In his last fight he defeated Josesito Lopez by TKO in the 6th round. He also recently fought Steve Upsher Chambers winning by a 10 UD. Leading up to the Chambers fight Berto lost two back to back bouts against Jesus Soto Karass & Robert Guerrero.
The fight is not being received well within & outside the boxing industry. With only a few days before the fight there are sill 2000 seats available on ticketmaster.
