Gennady Golovkin is looking to step into the ring with Billy Joe Saunders in April as he prepares to get ready for a mega showdown with Saul Canelo Alvarez later on this year. Golovkin (34-0, 31 KO's) is considered the most feared fighter in the sport of boxing today. Saunders (23-0, 12 KO's) recently won the WBO world title from Andy Lee. Golovkin is looking to add another bout to his collection to make a fight with Saul Canelo Alvarez even bigger.
According to K2 Promotion they have given Saunders a very good offer to take the fight. Saunders responded by stating that he will leave it up to his team to decide if Golovkin is the best option for him. In his interview after taking the title of Lee last month Saunders admitted that he was bout 18 months away from fighting the likes of Golovkin. While there is a huge doubt that Saunders will take the fight the ball is officially in his court. Rumor is the offer made to Saunders will be the biggest payday of his career.
