Kieron Conway adamant he can fight despite 'pretty boy' image

The news is out Kieron Conway from Northampton has been handed a slot in the Matchroom scheduled in Birmingham. He is set to fight Amir Khan in the big stage. For a while now the 22-year-old has been known as a " pretty boy" but according to him, he is a fighter. If you bet on boxing, as many others would tell you, not many would bet on him. However, for Conway, the tag of him being a pretty boy is one that he doesn’t really like and would want to change soon. For him, the change might come as soon as this next match.

Can Conway Make it to the Big Stage?

Does Conway what’s needed in him to make the right noises? Can he pull off what could be among the biggest upsets this year? Not many think he can but well, you never know.

Kieron Conway always wanted to set his foot in the big stage, and this is his opportunity. Kieron's star has been fast rising in the past year despite his pretty boy image. In March Kieron took on Chris Monaghan went on each other for eight rounds.

The clash between the two so Conroy body shots come heavy on Monaghan. The referee of the night Kevin Parker brought the match to an end with close proceedings with 66 seconds on the seventh remaining. Conroy became the first ever to stop Monaghan.

These winnings are what has built the young lads confidence. Conroy describes himself as an entertainer, and he is what many people want to see. He has ended up using his good looks to charm people to come and see him fight especially folks from his hometown. In a recent interview, he made it known that over 250 people had bought tickets to come and watch him fight.

The headline of the show will be Amir Khan as he clashes with Samuel Vargas. The whole show will be broadcasted live on SkySports. The event further sees local rivals Jason Welborn(23-6) who is the British middleweight champion fight against Tommy Langford(20-2). The winner of the match is set to defend the title against Mark Heffron.

This is not the first time Jason and Tommy are meeting in a fight. The two locals clashed earlier this year in a fight that almost saw Welborn win the British Commonwealth Belt. The battle between the two was referred as 'Battle of the Baggies" because the two are die-hard supporters of West Brom FC.

The Match room event will be their second "Battle of the Baggies." More fighters set to defend their titles include 'Ruthless' Ryan Kelly(11-1) who will defend his Midlands Arena super-weight against the unbeaten Gordon man Kelcie Ball(9-0). Kelly won the title last year against Adam Harper(7-0) and then reclaimed it in May against Owen Jobburn(4-2-1).

Kieron Conroy will share the ring with some of the most unstoppable forces. He has to prove he's more than a poser and a pretty face.
