UFC Star Cody Garbrandt Wants to Fight Manny Pacquiao, Is it Possible?

Cody Garbrandt, a former UFC bantamweight champion, summoned Manny Pacquiao on a boxing match. The 27-year-old said in a recent interview that he expects to fight Manny inside the ring.

If the fight pushes through, then this would be his comeback match after losing via TKO at UFC 227 at the hands of T.J. Dillashaw.

Meanwhile, Manny Pacquiao is fresh off a win after beating Lucas Matthyse last July. Many sports analysts believe that this would give the Filipino boxer an edge as he still has the confidence to fight in the ring despite his age.

However, Garbrandt shouldn’t be underestimated either as he proved that he’s one of the best MMA fighters since debuting against Marcus Brimage in 2015 at UFC 182. It was a huge victory for him as he won in the third round via technical knockout, further proving that he got the endurance to take on faster and more experienced fighters

If ever this fight pushes through, for sure, there will be lots of betfair promo code 2018 coming from numerous sports bookmakers.

But can he take on Manny? Well, there’s no concrete answer to that as they fight in different sports.

But what can be drawn from his side is that he has lots of experience fighting in top-tier leagues, such as the Pinnacle FC fighter. Furthermore, the American is only the second fighter to beat the seemingly invincible Dominick Cruz during the championship fight at UFC 207.

Indeed, he’s achieved a lot, but that doesn’t mean he can easily keep up with the likes of Manny Pacquiao, who's dominated several weight divisions.

Garbrandt boasts a 31-1 professional record, which is frankly speaking, better than Manny’s 60-7-2 statistics. But then again, the stats don’t add up as Manny has way more experience than the 27-year-old lad. So with that, it’d be safe to say that the Filipino senator/boxer has an edge when it comes to overall maneuverability.

Garbrandt, speaking to TMZ Sports, voiced out his opinions about the recent fight between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov.

His side was a bit vague, but he implied that he would love to go back to the fight game. Garbrandt even tackled the possibility of having a rematch between Floyd Mayweather and Canelo Alvarez, albeit the unlikely chances.

Later in the interview, Garbrandt went on to challenge Manny Pacquiao for a supposed “super-fight,” after saying that he would love to have a fight with that magnitude. As of now, the Pacman is yet to respond to the invitation, but based on the looks of it, it’s likely that the fight will push through, that is, however, if he wins his next upcoming fight.

As to who that will be, we still don’t know. But it’s surely not going to be Cody Garbrandt who is still fresh off a defeat. Nonetheless, Cody has a clean amateur boxing record, and that alone is the only reason why he’s got a chance to fight the greatest Asian boxer.

To make things even better, crossover matchups between the two sports, MMA and boxing, is becoming more popular. Take a look at the fight between McGregor and Mayweather last year. It was a billion-dollar fight!

What more if it’s going to be these two guys, who are both considered one of the greatest in the respective sports?

Also, Cody fighting Manny means he gets a paycheck that’s five times higher than his usual rate with the UFC. For sure, he’s going to make ends meet.
