Manny Pacquiao vs. Adrien Broner: Round-by-Round Prediction

Fresh off his seventh-round knockout over Lucas Matthysse in April, WBA "regular" welterweight world titleholder Manny Pacquiao returns to the ring on January 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas taking on Adrien Broner, who is coming off a majority draw against former titleholder Jessie Vargas in April.

Let's take it round-by-round.

Round 1: Pacquiao, despite turning 40 years old on Dec. 17, is still very quick, and takes the first round.

Winner: Pacquiao 10-9

Round 2: Broner backs up Pacquiao with solid right hands, stops the Pacman's combos in their tracks.

Winner: Broner 19-19

Round 3: Broner is getting the better exchanges in the center of the ring, as he is smothering Pacquiao on the inside, and landing hard punches to the body.

Winner: Broner 29-28

Round 4: Pacquiao nails Broner with his signature straight left hand. Broner is cut above the right eye and blood is trickling down, which will undoubtedly impair his vision.

Winner: Pacquiao 38-38

Round 5: Pacquiao lands a hard right cross and Broner goes down for the first time in the fight. It's a flash knockdown, and he's up at five. The tide has changed.

Winner: Pacquiao 48-46

Round 6: Pacquiao round.

Winner: Pacquiao 58-55

Round 7: Broner down again -- this time from a straight left hand, and unlike the previous knockdown, he is seriously hurt.

Winner: Pacquiao 68-63

Round 8: Pacquiao is jabbing away at the damaged eye. Broner has nothing left. The fight is stopped.
