Dutchover aims to please hometown fans when he clashes with Mattice

Michael Dutchover is putting his unbeaten record on the line and he knows this is a dangerous fight.

Dutchover (13-0, 10 KO’s), 21, of Midland, Texas, will face the dangerous Thomas Mattice (14-1-1, 11 KO’s) in his hometown on Showtime and its hit series “ShoBox: The New Generation” in the main event of a scheduled 10-round WBO Regional lightweight at La Hacienda Event Center.

“It’s a great fight for the fans to see,” said Dutchover. “This is a good level of opposition for me. I’ve taken care of business in all of my fights and most of them have been KO’s in the early rounds.”

Dutchover has never fought in a 10-round bout before, but that will change on Friday. What will not change, is his preparation.

“I’m prepared to go the full 10 rounds,” he asserted. “We had a great training camp. We’re mentally and physically prepared.”

Dutchover will have a tall order against Mattice, though, who is a strong puncher, and is known for having solid power in his right hand. It could make a difference, but we will soon find out.
