Hasim Rahman Jr. predicts first-round knockout of Jake Paul

Hasim Rahman Jr. is not lacking confidence.

The heavyweight prospect previously predicted a first-round knockout if he stepped in the ring with YouTube star-turned boxer Jake Paul 5-0, 4 KOs)

Rahman (12-1, 6 KOs) will get an opportunity to put his money where his mouth is on August 6, when he faces Paul in the main event of a Showtime Pay-Per-View card from Madison Square Garden in New York City.

Heavyweight prospect Hasim Rahman Jr. (12-1, 6 KOs) had previously spoken with Sky Sports regarding the possibility of a fight with Youtube star turned boxer, Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs).

"I would feel like I'd be representing boxing at that point," Rahman told Sky Sports.. "I would try my best not to let him out of the first minute, if they want entertainment that's fine.

“I would put my money on the fight ending in the first round, I wouldn't say the first minute. I would feel kind of embarrassed if I let him out of the first round, I have to hold it down for boxing at that point. I'd be saying 'ref, he don't belong in here with me, so get him out of there'. That's the type of mentality I'd be coming in with."

The two have a history as they engaged in a heated sparring session in 2020, which led to both teams separating their fighters during the aftermath.

Rahman officially agreed to step in for light heavyweight prospect Tommy Fury, who was pulled from the fight due to his inability to enter the United States due to his family's association with drug kingpin Daniel Kinahan.

Paul is coming off a sixth-round KO of Tyrone Woodley last December, while Rahman is coming off his first loss as a pro. In April, he was knocked out inside five rounds by James Morrison - the son of the late heavyweight champion Tommy Morrison.
