Unified WBC and WBO Super Welterweight World Champion Sebastian "The Towering Inferno" Fundora will defend his titles against top contender Chordale Booker in a highly anticipated 12-round showdown headlining PBC Championship Boxing on Prime Video, live from Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas on Saturday, March 22.
In the co-main event, rising Mexican star Jesus Ramos Jr. will face all-action contender Kevin Salgado in an exciting 10-round super welterweight bout. Additionally, rising middleweight prospect Elijah Garcia will take on veteran U.S. Olympian Terrell Gausha in a 10-round opening attraction.
The event begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will be streamed exclusively on Prime Video for all Prime members in the United States and select countries.
Fundora (21-1-1, 13 KOs), known for his fan-friendly style and toughness, will compete in his first defense of the unified titles after earning a victory over Tim Tszyu last year. Fundora’s last win in April 2022, against Erickson Lubin, was a Fight of the Year contender. The 27-year-old from Coachella, California, is trained by his father Freddy and sister Gabriela, the undisputed flyweight world champion. Fundora aims to maintain his dominant position atop the stacked super welterweight division.
Booker (23-1, 11 KOs), ranked WBO No. 5 and WBC No. 14, enters the fight on a six-fight winning streak. The 33-year-old from Stamford, Connecticut, is determined to prove himself against Fundora in what he calls the biggest fight of his career.
In the co-main event, Ramos (22-1, 18 KOs) will continue his pursuit of a title shot as he takes on Salgado (17-2-1, 10 KOs) in a thrilling all-Mexican showdown. Ramos looks to build on his impressive knockout victories after a loss to Erickson Lubin in September 2023. Salgado, also coming off two straight stoppage victories, is eager to make a statement in this high-stakes battle.
The night’s opening fight will feature Elijah Garcia (16-1, 13 KOs), who is looking to rebound from his first career loss and return to his championship trajectory against veteran Terrell Gausha (24-4-1, 12 KOs). Garcia, known for his knockout power, aims to dominate and make a statement in the middleweight division.
