Junior welterweight sensation Emiliano Fernando Vargas and Olympic middleweight standout Troy Isley are set to launch their 2025 campaigns on Saturday, March 29, at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Vargas (12-0, 10 KOs) will take on veteran Giovannie Gonzalez (20-7-2, 15 KOs) in an eight-rounder.
Isley (14-0, 5 KOs) faces Ivory Coast’s Etoundi Michel William (16-1, 12 KOs) in a 10-round middleweight clash.
The fights are part of a loaded card headlined by the WBO welterweight world title rematch between reigning champion Mikaela Mayer and former titlist Sandy Ryan.
Mayer-Ryan II & Norman-Cuevas Title Fight on ESPN
The event’s co-feature sees Brian Norman Jr. defend his WBO welterweight title against Puerto Rico’s Derrieck Cuevas.
Mayer-Ryan II and Norman-Cuevas will be broadcast live on ESPN, ESPN Deportes, and ESPN+ at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT.
The ESPN+ undercard includes Bruce “Shu Shu” Carrington vs. Jose Enrique Vivas in a 10-round WBC final eliminator, plus Vargas-Gonzalez and Isley-William.
Vargas Looks to Continue Explosive Rise
The 20-year-old son of former junior middleweight world champion Fernando “Feroz” Vargas, Emiliano had a breakout 2024, scoring multiple knockouts, including a stunning first-round finish of Jose Zaragoza.
Gonzalez, a seasoned eight-year pro, last fought in October, going the distance in a competitive bout against unbeaten Jose Luis Vazquez.
Isley Eyes Bigger Opportunities
The 2020 U.S. Olympian and rising middleweight, Isley linked up with Trainer of the Year Brian “BoMac” McIntyre and dominated three opponents in 2024. His recent wins include a seventh-round TKO of Marcos Hernandez and a dominant decision over Tyler Howard in November.
William, a hard-hitting 31-year-old from Ivory Coast, looks to bounce back from his only career loss to Jose Miguel Borrego in October.

Tiger Johnson (14-0, 6 KOs) returns in an eight-round welterweight bout against Kendo Castaneda (21-8, 9 KOs).
Dedrick Crocklem (1-0, 1 KO), the latest talent from Tacoma, Washington, faces Dionne Ruvalcaba (2-1, 1 KO) in a four-round junior lightweight matchup.
