Perez Takes Silver in Breakout Performance

Yoseline Perez, a rising star from Houston, Texas, earned her first Elite-level international medal, claiming silver in the 54 kg division. The 21-year-old advanced to the final after impressive victories over Paris 2024 Olympian Monique Suraci of Australia in the opening round and Italy’s Sirine Charaabi in the semifinals.

In the gold medal match, Perez faced Wiktoria Rogalinska of Poland, falling by a 5-0 decision. Despite the loss, the tournament marked a major milestone for Perez, adding to her international resume, which already includes gold at the 2022 Youth World Championships.
