Scott, Glazkov gets controversial draw, Algieri gets win

It was one of this nights as a boxing fan that one had to cringe after hearing the result of the heavyweight bout between Malik Scott (35-0-1 12 KO's) vs Vyacheslav Glazkov (14-0-1, 10 KO's). Bad judging dismantled the sport of boxing in 2012, nearly drawing an uprising from the fans, and government intervention in a sport that is clouded by corruption. Saturday nights result of the national televised fight between Scott and Glazkov fight didn't help the cause.

By appearance, it looked as though at the end of the 12th round Scott had dominated the fight, perhaps only losing 2-3 rounds at most. The judges however had saw something totally different. Scott and Glazkov fought to a draw, with one judge having it 98-92 Scott, the other 96-94 Glazkov, and the third 95-95. Most media had Scott winning the fight either 97-93 or 98-92. Both fighters kept their undefeated record making the really loser of this fight the sport of boxing.

Chris Algieri defeated Jose Peralta on the undercard in a unanimous decision in what was a entertaining fight to watch. Scores were 98-92, 97-93, and 96-94. Algieri improved to 16-0, while Peralta fell to 10-2
