Crawford-Gamboa hits 1.2 million viewers on HBO

Last weekend’s lightweight championship bout between Terence Crawford and Yuriorkis Gamboa drew in an audience of 1.2 million viewers on HBO Boxing After Dark making it the second highest watched boxing event of the year on television behind the Chavez Jr-Vera fight. The fight had close to 11,000 people in attendance in Omaha, NE. The fight was a huge success all around.

Crawford stopped Gamboa in the ninth round in a fight that has been deemed worthy for a Fight of the Year. Many are starting to get the sense that Crawford could be the next American star behind Floyd Mayweather. While that remains to be seen, and he has a long way to go, Crawford is starting to generate some noise across the country.
