A mega showdown between super middleweight champion Carl Froch (33-2, 24 KO's) and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (48-1-1, 32 KO's) is being discussed for January 24th of 2015. The fight is in negotiations right now and according to Bob Arum things are looking good despite his past issues with Chavez Jr. Arum had tried earlier this year to get a showdown between Gennady Golovkin and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr take place this summer but the contract issues between Top Rank and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr played a big part in stopping the fight from happening.
Arum is confident that they can move past that and make the fight happen at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV. After his one punch KO victory over Groves back in May, Froch stated that he wanted to fight in Las Vegas before he retired. This would be the perfect fight for him as he nears the end of his career fulfilling what would be a bucket list hope for the English fighter.
