Super Bantamweight champion Guillermo Rigondeaux isn’t leaving his desire to face fellow champion Leo Santa Cruz up to his managers. Rigondeaux has been on Twitter for the last couple weeks expressing his desire to face Leo Santa Cruz
“We want 2 give the public/fans the fight they want Rigondeaux Vs @leosantacruz2 @promotioncaribe @CaribeBoxing @GoldenBoyBoxing @SHOsports” Said Rigondeaux
Rigondeaux is coming off a first round KO victory over Sod Kokietgym. The fight took place in Macau and was the last of Top Rank’s contract. Top Rank’s Bob Arum isn’t expected to resign Ridondeaux because of HBO’s lack of interest in the fighter who they think is not a good sell for their network. Santa Cruz and Ridondeaux have both said they want to face each other. Santa Cruz is fighting September 13th on the Mayweather-Maidana II undercard and a victory there could line him up with Ridondeaux next.
