George Groves backs James DeGale

In an interview with Sky Sports, former super middleweight champion George Groves said that he has faith that James DeGale can defeat Andre Dirrell this Saturday night.

"We will see if he can step up to the mark and perform - and I wish him the very best of luck. I think he can do it. He can do it. If he goes out there and performs, if he's up for it. I don't think he'll get a stoppage but a points win wouldn't surprise me." Groves told Sky Sports.

Groves also said he would be open to a rematch agains James DeGale, should Degale beat Dirrell and Groves defeat Badou Jack, who he is expected to face later this year. Groves defeated DeGale in May of 2011 in a fight that many thought went the wrong way. Most though DeGale should have got the victory.
