After his controversial 3rd round TKO victory Saturday afternoon light heavyweight contender Edwin Rodriguez (27-1, 18 KO's) said that he would like to get into the ring with guys like Sergey Kovalev and Adonis Stevenson. Stevenson wasn't quiet about Rodriguez's comment as he took to Twitter to respond.
"Bring it." Stevenson said. "I see you won. Everyone wants a piece of #Superman."
It's a fight that could be made. Rodriguez is fighting for the PBC as well as Stevenson. While fans are calling for a Kovalev-Stevenson showdown, that fight seems more and more distant with each passing day. Kovalev can't fight off of HBO and Haymon, who is Stevenson's manager, has his guys locked into his new PBC series spread across multiple networks. Both fighter's have only suffered one loss in their careers. Stevenson was knocked out by Darnell Boone five years ago while Rodriguez's sole loss came at the hands of Andre Ward.
