Earlier this month there were multiple reports that recognized heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko said that he was willing to fight Tyson Fury in the UK, possibly at the famed Wembley Stadium. The report by advisor Shelly Finkel said that Klitschko wanted to go to the UK to make the fight. Finkel said that Klitschko would love to go to the UK because of the big boxing fan base, and the fans that he has there. Also, he stated that Klitschko wanted to shut Fury up once and for all, and would love to do it in his own backyard.
As negotiations continue to proceed for the fight there is a good chance that the fight lands at Wembley Stadium in September, according to some sources. Nothing has been confirmed yet however it seems that they are trying hard to stage the big heavyweight fight in the UK's biggest possible venue. Wembley Stadium seats around 80,000, and filled up for the Froch-Groves rematch last year.
