Welterweight Lenny Zappavigna 33W 2L 23KOs with a 65% KO % known to many as “Lenny Z,” has signed with Top Rank. Born in Leppington, New South Wales, Australia, he has been training in Southern California, including time at Freddie Roach’s Wild Card Boxing Club. He has won eight fights in a row (six by knockout) since back-to-back losses, including by decision challenging then-lightweight titleholder Miguel Vazquez in Las Vegas in March 2011. His last fight was in Nov. 2014 where he won by TKO over Misael Castillo
"I am ready for the big fights against the top fighters," said Zappavigna, who is managed by Cameron Dunkin and Michael Altamura. "While growing up in Australia I played some soccer and did karate. Then, as a teenager I got into boxing and have been devoted to the sport since then. Training at Wild Card is incredible. I have had a lot of sparring with some of the best fighters in the world."
Zappavigna’s first fight with Top Rank has not been scheduled yet.
"I really believe in Zappa," Dunkin said. "He has grown as a fighter and in my opinion he will be a world champion in the near future."
