Walters-Marriaga: This Weekend Preview & TV Info

Nicholas Walters (25-0, 21 KO), WBA featherweight titleholder will face unbeaten Colombian prospect Miguel Marriaga (20-0, 18 KO), Sat, Jun 13 2015 @ The Theater, Madison Square Garden NYC New York on HBO boxing starting at 10:00 pm ET.

Walters is coming off his HBO debut last October with a win over Nonito Donaire, dropping the Donaire twice and winning by TKO in the 6th. "Headlining at Madison Square Garden is every fighter's dream but to do it on HBO is a tremendous honor," said Walters. "I have unfinished business with Miguel Marriaga. He kept me out of the 2008 Olympics when he beat me in the Americas Olympic Qualifier and I am ready to pay him back. I am going to chop him with the axe."

Marriaga, is also coming off a TKO last year, beating Christopher Martin in October in the 6th round. "I am happy to be fighting at the legendary Madison Square Garden," said Marriaga. "I was born to be world champion and come June 13 I will be victorious."

The HBO telecast will also feature the debut of Felix Verdejo (17-0, 13 KO), lightweight prospect out of Puerto Rico, against San Antonio's Ivan Najera (16-0, 8 KO) in a clash of unbeaten young fighters.

This should be a great night of boxing as all four fighters have a perfect combined record of 78-0 (60 KOs), which includes a victory by knockout ratio of 77%.
