Super middleweight champion Andre Ward didn't look like he missed a beat Saturday night in Oakland, CA as he battered Paul Smith over 9 rounds sealing a 9th round TKO victory in front of a huge crowd at the Oracle Arena. Ward turned the fight into a sparring session as he easily dismantled the outskilled Smith with combinations. Coming out in the first round using the jab to control the pace, Ward was able to put together punch after punch turning Smith's face into a bloody mess. Smith was outmatched from the opening bell and never proved to be a threat to Ward in the fight. Ward was able to knock of 19 month of ring rust in the fight where he looked every bit as the same fighter he was two years ago. Ward improved to 27-0, 15 KO's with the victory.
