Undefeated middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin is wasting no time calling out the best opponents he can in his division. Golovkin was quick to make a public statement stating that he is ready and willing to face newly crowed IBF champion David Lemieux next. Lemieux won the title last night be defeating the tough Hassan N'Damn, dropping him four times with relentless power punching. Golovkin took notice, and with Carl Froch uninterested in fighting him, he's looking elsewhere to land the best fights he can.
"Golovkin vs Lemieux - Let's make it NOW! Not "in the future" or "down the road!"- Golovkin tweeted earlier today.
Golovkin's promoter, Tom Loeffler, stated last night that they would be contacting Golden Boy this week to see if they can make the fight happen however last night Golden Boy Promotions was mentioned the name Gennady Golovkin and they dismissed the fight for now stating it was something that they would be willing to make "down the road."
