Super middleweight champion Andre Ward is still deciding what weight division he wants to continue fighting in. Coming off a dominating performance over Paul Smith Saturday night in Oakland, a fight that was fought at 172 lbs, Ward has been thinking about making a jump to the light heavyweight division which is fought at the weight limit of 175 lbs. Prior to the Smith fight Ward said that he could easily make 168 again but that he had been thinking about moving up. Ward seems to realize that the big fights are in the light heavyweight division. A fight with James DeGale seems to be the only option at 168 as middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin has stated numerous times he will only move to 168 for a PPV type fight. If Ward can't land DeGale, the light heavyweight division has plenty of names to take on.
"Just to be clear, I have not made an official decision about the weight class I'll be fighting in. Still resting, will speak to my team soon." Ward said.
