Future Hall of Famer Sugar Shane Mosley (47-9-1, 39 KO's) is back, at least for one more fight. Sugar Shane will be taking on Ricardo Mayorga (31-8-1, 25 KO's) on August 29th in southern California. Mosley posted a picture of him and Mayorga with signed contracts via his Twitter page earlier this morning.
"Signed on the dotted line It's official. He isn't ready. He got real quiet when he saw me. He don't want these hands." Mosley stated with the picture. Sugar Shane said that when he saw Ricardo Mayorga in Vegas some heated words were exchanged between the two leading up to them wanting to get back into the ring together. Mosley and Mayorga fought in 2008, a fight that saw Sugar Shane knockout Mayorga with one second remaining in the 12th round.
Also signing to fight on the same card is Mosley's son, Shane Mosley Jr (4-1, 4 KO's), who suffered the first loss of his boxing career in only his third professional fight. Mosley Jr is coming off two knockout wins, and one brutal KO victory in the BKB last month. No opponent has been selected for Mosley Jr yet. It's also unaware that any network is going to pick up the fight as of right now.
Mosley told Boxingscene that he has been getting positive responses from the fans in regards to the fight. He also said that he plans to brutally KO Mayorga again. Shane hasn't been in the ring since 2013 when he suffered a 7th round TKO loss to Anthony Mundine. Mayorga is coming off of two KO victories in 2014. Mayorga is also a guarantee to put on a very entertaining show both before the fight and during it. He's been known to have some very eccentric tactics leading up to big fights.
