Results: Payano Split Decision Over Warren

Juan Carlos Payano (17-0) won a split decision over Rau’shee Warren (13-1) live from the Full Sail University in Winter Park, Florida. The bout was the feature on "BounceTV.com" part of PBC series. Payano, retains the WBA bantamweight title and capture the vacant IBO bantamweight title. The scores were 113-111 for Payano, 115-109 for Warren and 113-111 for Payano. Many media reporters & ringside commentators felt the outcome was controversial and scored the fight for Warren.

Right from the bell the fight was action packed non stop punches from both fighters. The action ugly at times and very close. The ref deduction points from both fighters at different times in the fight. In the third round Payano lost a point for rabbit punching, in the ninth Warren, lost two points for what the referee felt was an intentional foul for pushing Payano down to the mat. The fight was very close heading into the championship rounds. In the 12th and final round, Warren scored a knockdown on Payano. Payano threw more punches in the fight and he connected on 166 of 709 (23%), while Warren landed 173 of 439 (39%).
