WBC heavyweight champion Deontay “The Bronze Bomber” Wilder (34-0, 33 KOs) will fight Frenchman Johann Duhaupas at Legacy Arena in Birmingham. The fight will be televised by NBC's Premier Boxing Championship Series September 26th.
Wilder is coming off one successful defense of the WBC World heavyweight title that he won from Bermane Stiverne this year. He then defended his title against Eric Molina back in June @ Bartow Arena, Birmingham, Alabama, scoring a 9th round TKO.
Johann Duhaupas recently fought this past April against Manuel Charr where he won by a MD, scores: judges: Alexander Kalinkin 98-93, Baban Nadyrov 98-93, Alexander Zolkin 95-95. A month before that he lost to Erkan Teper by UD.
A news conference is scheduled for Thursday afternoon at Legacy Arena in Birmingham where more details of the event will be released.
