Result: McDonnell outpoints Kameda over 12

In a twelve round fight for the WBA World bantamweight title Jamie McDonnell out pointed Tomoki Kameda. Scores were judge: Glenn Feldman 115-112, Jesse Reyes 116-111, Steve Weisfeld 117-110 and Kameda was down in the 12th round.

It was an action packed fight. Both fighters refused to back away throwing punches and punches. Several rounds were razor-thin close and hard to scores. The final decision wasn't well received by the crowd, whose reaction seemed to agree with the CBS broadcast view that Kameda deserved the W. Most people watching the fight on twitter also thought that Kameda deserved the win. McDonnell was working his snapping jab while Kameda was landing flush combos down the middle. It was a hard fight where both fighter left everything they had in the ring. In the 12th round McDonnell floored Kameda with a right @ 90 seconds to go in the bout. Both fighters raised their hands at the bell thinking they won.

The bout aired live on CBS, as part of the Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) series.
