"Kid Chocolate" Peter Quillin, the Former middleweight world titleholder will return this September 8th on the nontelevised undercard, David Benavidez vs Ronald Gavril event @ Hard Rock Hotel and Casino, Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. No opponent has been announce just yet, but he is looking to move up in weight @ 170lbs. Quillin, used employ Benavidez as a sparring partner but now will on the undercard of his main event.
Quillin has not fought since December 2015, when he took on Brooklyn rival Daniel Jacobs. Quillin suffered a first-round knockout lasting only 85 seconds. This is his only lost on his resume, he does have a draw against tough Irishman Andy Lee. Quillin sports an impressive resume, Ronald Wright, Hassan N'Dam, Fernando Guerrero, Gabriel Rosado, and Lee.
Over his long layoff he has changed things up in his team. He left long time trainer Eric Brown and started training under Virgil Hunter. "People think I'm retired," Quillin told ESPN "I would have announced if I was retired. But I've gone through a lot. I changed my team. I have some new people in my circle. I needed to make sure I had the time I needed with them. But now I am ready to go and ready to start the second leg of my career."
