Patrick Teixeira dominates Nate Gallimore, wins eight-round unanimous decision

Patrick Teixeira scored a dominating unanimous decision victory over Nathaniel Gallimore on Friday's Golden Boy Boxing Facebook Watch-televised card at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, California.

Teixeira (28-1, 22 KO's), 27, of Brazil, who has won three consecutive bouts since suffering a second-round stoppage to Curtis Stevens in May 2016 on the undercard of Canelo Alvarez vs. Amir Khan at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Gallimore (20-3-1, 17 KO's), a Jamaica native training out of Chicago, has suffered back-to-back losses. The 30-year-old lost a majority decision to former 154-pound world title contender Julian "J Rock" Williams back in April.

Gallimore dictated the pace in the first round with his accuracy, particularly with his counter right hand to the body. However, whatever gameplan Gallimore had coming into the fight, he completely abandoned it after the opening round, opting to swing for the fences.

Teixeira outboxed a trigger-happy Gallimore from that point forward, jabbing to the head and the body consistently, and staying out of range of Gallimore's loaded up bombs.

Teixeira was the victim of a couple of headbutts, the first which during the second round. There was blood visible on Teixeira's forehead, but not enough to endanger his chances. Gallimore landed another headbutt in the third round. Time was called, and Teixeira retaliated in kind with a big left hand. The referee also warned Gallimore for punching after the bell. Earlier in the round, Teixeira stunned Gallimore with a counter right.

Coming to the end of the sixth round, Gallimore looked utterly dejected. His trainers had urged him to stop loading on his punches and focus on boxing, but Gallimore kept looking for that one shot to end the fight -- he never found it.

All three judges scored the fight 78-74 for Teixeira. FightNights.com had it 79-73.
