Strawweight world titleholder Wanheng Menayothin will shoot for 53-0 when he makes his next defense on March 1 in Thailand in a rematch against Tatsuya Fukuhara.
Menayothin (52-0, 18 KO's), 33, would extend boxing's longest active winning streak with a victory. Fukuhara (21-6-6, 7 KO's), has won two consecutive fights since losing a lopsided unanimous decision to Menayothin in November 2017.
This will be the 11th defense of the WBC minimumweight belt for Menayothin. He won the title in November 2014 with a ninth-round TKO of Mexican journeyman Oswaldo Novoa.
Menayothin, who turned pro in 2008, surpassed the 50-0 mark set by Floyd Mayweather Jr. last August when he outpointed Filipino journeyman Pedro Taduran.
