Floyd Mayweather Jr. was not in the Philippines for Pacquiao

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was in the Philippines over the weekend, but the purpose of his trip had nothing to do with boxing.

According to sources reporting exclusively to FightNights.com, Mayweather arrived at a private hangar on Sunday morning on vacation and other business ventures.

However, the source left the door open for a possible meeting with Pacquiao.

The two faced each other in a much-hyped 2015 bout dubbed as "The Fight of the Century." Mayweather (50-0, 27 KO's) cruised to a unanimous decision win, while Pacquiao (61-7-2, 39 KO's) blamed his poor performance on a right shoulder injury. The eight-division world champion landed just 81 punches in the fight, which set a pay-per-view record of 4.6 million buys.

Mayweather made around $220 million, and Pacquiao earned about $180 million.

The 42-year-old Mayweather has two wins since facing Pacquiao: against Andre Berto in September 2015 and his August 2017 knockout of Conor McGregor in the former UFC champion's boxing debut.

Pacquiao last fought in January, when he easily outpointed Adrien Broner to defend his secondary welterweight title at MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It was Pacquiao's first fight in the United States in over two years. The Filipino fighter called out Mayweather for a rematch after the bout.

Unlike the first time they tried to get into the ring, there are no promotional barriers between the two men because Mayweather promotes himself and Pacquiao is signed with longtime Mayweather advisor Al Haymon, the founder of Premier Boxing Champions.
