Rocky Fielding knocks out Timo Laine in three rounds, picks up third straight win

Rocky Fielding can still pack a punch.

The former secondary super middleweight titlist picked up his third consecutive knockout win with a third-round KO of Finland's Timo Laine on a Probellum show in Liverpool.

It was an easy night of work for Fielding, who landed at will and forced referee Steve Gray to stop the bout at 1:34 of the third as he unloaded a barrage with Laine covering up against the ropes.

The 34-year-old Fielding (30-2, 18 KOs) has seen nothing but wins since he was knocked out in the third round by pound-for-pound king Canelo Alvarez at Madison Square Garden in 2018. His other defeat came at the hands of former super middleweight titlist Callum Smith, who knocked out Fielding in one round.

On the undercard, 118-pounder Blane Hyland recovered from a knockdown to outpoint Stephen Jackson over six rounds.

Blane Hyland climbed off the floor to claim a narrow six-round decision over Stephen Jackson at bantamweight. Hyland had the edge early on but was dropped at the end of the fourth round by a hard right. Jackson also did well in the final round but referee John Latham gave Hyland the edge by 57-56 to move to 6-1 as a pro.

Irish junior lightweight Steven Cairns took care of Jose Hernandez in 91 seconds and Joe McGrail also took the same amount of time to stop Mohammed Al Warith in their scheduled four-round 122-pound affair.
