Gervonta "Tank" Davis is in the dog house again.
The former junior lightweight world titleholder was arrested Tuesday in Parkland, Florida, and jailed on a domestic violence charge of battery causing bodily harm, according to the Broward County Sheriff's Office.
Davis remains in custody at Broward County's Main Jail Bureau in Fort Lauderdale and is scheduled to appear at a court hearing Wednesday at 8 a.m. ET. No bond has been set.
This almost certainly puts his Jan. 7 PBC on Showtime Pay-Per-View main event against Hector Luis Garcia in jeopardy of being canceled. Last year, Davis was initially slated to face Rolando "Rolly" Romero on December 5 but the latter was removed from the card after he was accused of sexual assault. Isaac Cruz stepped in as a replacement opponent and Davis won a competitive, 12-round unanimous decision. Davis and Romero eventually fought last May 28 in Brooklyn, with Davis scoring a sixth-round KO.
With a win, the 28-year-old Davis (27-0, 25 KOs) was set to face rising star Ryan Garcia on April 25 in Las Vegas.
But as is customary, the only person in the way of Tank Davis is Tank Davis given his long rap sheet.
According to court records, Davis is also set to appear in Baltimore Circuit Court next month for his alleged involvement in an unrelated hit-and-run incident in November 2020. Davis is accused of fleeing the scene of an accident that involved four people, including a pregnant woman. He is facing a grand total of 14 charges, including failure to immediately return and remain at the scene of an accident involving bodily injury. Furthermore, he is also is facing a civil suit.
Davis was also facing two misdemeanor battery charges for an incident in February 2020 in which he "was observed battering his former girlfriend," at a basketball game. That case was discharged two weeks ago.
